Public Meetings
Their mission is to promote, aid and encourage public recreation and community involvement, as well as oversee the maintenance, development and operation of all recreation areas and facilities in the County Parks system. The Recreation and Park Commission serves as the Department's Fish and Game Commission.
Commissioners are appointed by the Board of Supervisors to serve a term of four years, or until their successor is appointed.

The American River Parkway Advisory Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Sacramento County Recreation and Parks Commission and the Director of Regional Parks on a variety of issues related to the American River Parkway, including but not limited to:
- The maintenance, development and operation of the American River Parkway
- Promoting, aiding and encouraging public understanding of the special natural values of the Parkway
- Ensuring the preservation of the natural environment
- Providing limited developments to facilitate human enjoyment and public recreation in the American River Parkway, in accordance with the American River Parkway Plan.

The Dry Creek Parkway Advisory Committee acts in an advisory capacity to the Sacramento County Recreation and Parks Commission and the Director of Regional Parks on a variety of issues related to the Dry Creek Parkway including but not limited to:
- The maintenance, development and operation of all recreation areas and facilities special and otherwise in the Dry Creek Parkway and at Gibson Ranch.
- Promoting, aiding and encouraging public recreation in the Dry Creek Parkway and at Gibson Ranch, including the development of recreation and park facilities
- Preserving, protecting, enhancing, and interpreting the natural and cultural resources of the Dry Creek Parkway.
- Making recommendations on a schedule of priorities for acquisition and development in accordance with the Master Plan

County Service Area #4B - encompasses the unincorporated area of the County east of Grant Line Road to the County line and includes Rancho Murieta, Wilton, Sloughouse and the Cosumnes areas.
Who We Are
The Wilton/Cosumnes Council works with the Sacramento County Regional Parks on an Advisory level, as related to the Parks and Recreation in the Wilton/Cosumnes Area. The Council consists of five (5) members of the community and meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. at the Wilton Community Center.

County Service Area #4C - encompasses the unincorporated area of the County in the Delta area from Hood, Locke and Walnut Grove all the way to Sherman Island.
Who We Are
The Delta Council works with the Sacramento County Regional Parks on an Advisory level, as related to the Parks and Recreation in the Delta Area. The Council consists of five (5) members of the community and meets on the third Thursday of odd months at 1 p.m. at the Jean Harvie Community Center.
